What are Dermal Fillers?

Filler is used to add volume back in areas that we have lost as we age, from traumatic injuries, or are present from birth.

What Results Can I Expect?*

You can generally expect to see results immediately and will improve as swelling resolves. Depending on the product you may note results from 6-12 months and maybe longer depending on the filler product used. Bruising and swelling should be expected in all areas, however, each patient is different. If you have an important event that you need to look your best for you will want to have your treatments at least 3 weeks in advance to allow bruising and swelling to resolve.

What Areas Are Commonly Treated With Filler?

  • (1) Cheeks and lips
  • (2) Chin
  • (3) Nose and nasolabial folds
  • (4) Smile lines
  • (5) Ears
  • (6) Tear troughs (eye circles)
  • (7) Marionette lines
  • (8) Hands

There are many types of fillers on the market that are used today. The main category that we use the most often are hyaluronic acid fillers (HA’s) such as Juvederm® or Restylane®. Like most fillers, hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring acid that is found throughout every cell in your body and acts as a skin hydrator and moisturizer. Fillers replenish the hyaluronic acid deficiency that occurs with age and is thus the most popular category of filler used today.

What Is A Filler Treatment Like?

Dr. Brown or one of his certified nurse injectors will determine your goals through an initial consultation where they will determine your treatment plan. After your consultation, if you accept the treatment plan our certified injectors or Dr. Brown will proceed to treat the areas discussed. We carry a considerable variety of filler formulations from different companies to ensure we can customize the right treatment plan for you.
