A Solution For Stubborn Fat Deposits

Everyone can have stubborn fat deposits. We are born with a finite amount of fat cells. With age, a slowing metabolism can lead to excess fat deposits around the waist, buttocks, thighs, hips, knees, ankles, and stomach – which in turn can deeply impact your self-esteem.

Nothing replaces a healthy meal plan and exercise for getting rid of excess fat. But, when you have maximized weight loss with a healthy meal plan and exercise, and you still have stubborn fat that you just can not get rid of, liposuction may be the procedure for you. When combined with a healthy lifestyle and proper meal plan, there is simply nothing as effective as liposuction to remove stubborn, unwanted body fat in “trouble areas.” Liposuction is performed by using a cannula through a small incision and then suctioning out excess fatty tissue. The outcome is a more shapely, contoured silhouette that exudes well-being and confidence. Liposuction is not a weight loss procedure, rather it is a contouring and shaping procedure.

Am I A Candidate For
Liposuction?

You are an ideal candidate for liposuction:

  • If you have good skin elasticity and a minimal amount of excess skin
  • If you carry localized fat deposits that do not disappear with a healthy meal plan and exercise
  • If you are physically fit and your weight is stable with trouble areas
  • If you have moderate fat excess and are looking for clothing to fit better

Why Liposuction?

Dr. Brown is an advocate for using liposuction in conjunction with a long-term lifestyle change to maintain your ideal figure. Patients sometimes are mistaken that liposuction is a substitute for weight loss. If you do not continue to eat a healthy meal plan and exercise you will gain weight back not only in the same area as liposuction was performed but in other areas as well.

Liposuction excels for areas of disproportion. That does not mean that a patient has to be thin; it only means that there needs to be an area that is disproportionate such as a bulge or a shape that does not flow harmoniously with the surrounding areas.

Dr. Brown has performed liposuction and provided outstanding results for patients of nearly every body type. His discerning eye, meticulous technique, and impeccable sense of proportion enable him to deliver incredible results, time and time again.

How Does Liposuction Work?

Liposuction is a procedure which breaks up and removes fat from various areas of the body. The fat is broken up and removed using a long, hollow instrument, known as a “cannula.” The cannula is inserted under the skin through a 1-2mm incision and used to contour and remove areas of fatty deposits.

Liposuction Recovery*

In general, you can expect the greatest amount of swelling 2-4 days after surgery. Swelling and bruising will begin to decrease around 2 weeks. Most of the bruising will diminish at 3-4 weeks. Swelling can take as long as 3 months to completely resolve as the lymphatic system begins to drain properly. You will use compression for 6 weeks and lymphatic massage can also be utilized to help reduce swelling. You will be restricted from taking a bath, swimming, or enjoying a hot tub for at least 2 weeks. Most patients feel good enough to return to normal activities after a few days, but you should refrain from strenuous activities until Dr. Brown clears you.
