LIPOSUCTION OPTIONS

Liposuction Options

First developed over 30 years ago, traditional liposuction remains one of the most effective ways to address stubborn deposits of fat. With this method, Dr. Brown will make tiny incisions in the treatment area through which a small cannula can be inserted. With a back and forth motion and gentle suction, the cannula can remove deposits of fat, even from fibrous areas such as the abdomen, hips, and thighs.

Ultrasonic liposuction (UAL) requires tiny incisions and the use of a cannula as well. However, this is where the similarities end. UAL begins with the injection of tumescent fluid. This fluid numbs the treatment area, solidifies fat, and temporarily swells the skin.

Once the tumescent fluid has done its work, a cannula connected to an ultrasonic generator is inserted into the incisions. With the assistance of the tumescent fluid, ultrasound waves work to liquefy stubborn deposits of fat, facilitating more complete removal of excess and unnecessary tissue.

During your initial body sculpting consultation with Dr. Brown, your areas of concern will be assessed and the technique most suited to meet your needs determined.
