Phoenix Rhinoplasty RecoveryDr. Brown has a passion for Rhinoplasty surgery and has traveled the country to spend time with top Rhinoplasty surgeons in the field. As with any surgical procedure, Rhinoplasty (nose reshaping) will require a recovery period. While your recovery process will be dependent on factors such as your body’s natural healing ability and which Rhinoplasty technique was used, most people recover from this procedure relatively quickly. What you can expect during your recovery will be discussed in full during your Rhinoplasty consultation with Phoenix plastic surgeon Dr. Richard Brown.

Recovery after Nose Reshaping

It is not uncommon to experience some level of discomfort in the first few days after Rhinoplasty surgery. This can be minimized with medications prescribed by Dr. Brown, but most patients are able to switch to an over-the-counter medication within two to five days.

Swelling, congestion, and bruising are also common after Rhinoplasty. Swelling can be handled with the use of icepacks. Congestion typically subsides when swelling goes down. Bruising will go away on its own, but some patients choose to use homeopathic remedies to help speed the process such as Arnica and Bromelin.

Most people are able to resume work within one week. If you have an internal splint, Dr. Brown will remove that at your one week post operative visit. Strenuous activities may need to be avoided for up to six weeks, and there will be restrictions on things such as swimming as well. All of this will be discussed with you in more detail during your Phoenix rhinoplasty consultation.
