Revision Breast Augmentation Surgery

by | May 1, 2013

Revision Breast Augmentation SurgeryBreast augmentation revision surgery may be required under a number of circumstances. Reasons to consider breast implant replacement include:

  • Dissatisfaction with initial results
  • A desire to change shape or size of your breasts
  • Implant displacement or sagging
  • Capsular contracture
  • Aesthetic imperfections such as rippling or wrinkling
  • Implant rupture

How Revision is Done

Whenever possible, Dr. Brown will perform breast augmentation revision through the same incisions used in your initial procedure. When this is not possible, Dr. Brown will take every consideration to place your incisions in the most inconspicuous location possible.

The procedure itself may take up to two hours, but may take a bit longer if sagging is also being addressed with a breast lift. Your surgical options and what you can expect from this procedure will be discussed with you in more detail during your initial consultation.

It is important to remember that breast implants are not always a permanent solution and it is not entirely uncommon for revision surgery to be necessary at some point. When the time comes for your revision surgery, Dr. Brown will be happy to discuss your options and help you restore the most appealing look to your breasts.

If you live in or around Scottsdale, Arizona and are interested in learning more about breast augmentation revision surgery, please contact Richard J. Brown, M.D. today to schedule a one-on-one consultation.
