How Can I Regain My Pre-Pregnancy Body?
Becoming a mother is one of the most incredible experiences in life. However, it can change your body tremendously, leaving you longing for your pre-pregnancy figure. A mommy makeover can help you regain your pre-pregnancy body – restoring both your physique and your self-confidence. Keep reading to learn more about what a mommy makeover is and how it works.
What is a Mommy Makeover?
A mommy makeover can help you achieve your pre-baby body by tightening up loose skin, lifting sagging breasts, and resolving stubborn fat bulges that may be resistant to diet and exercise. At Brown Plastic Surgery, it involves a number of procedures such as a tummy tuck, a breast lift, breast augmentation, and liposuction.
After getting to know your unique concerns and aesthetic goals, I will design a customized mommy makeover procedure for you. While some of my patients benefit from three or more mommy makeover procedures, others achieve their desired results with only one or two.
By combining multiple procedures into one surgery, you can save money and enjoy a shorter recovery period.
Recovering From a Mommy Makeover
The procedures that I perform will dictate the recovery process of your mommy makeover. While most of my patients return to work after a few weeks, others require additional time off, especially if they work in a physically demanding job.
Mommy Makeover Consultations Available
I’ll encourage you to walk and engage in other light physical activities so you can reduce your risk of blood clots. You can expect your drains and sutures to be removed in about a week after the surgery.
Since every patient is different, I’ll provide you with a customized recovery plan that will allow your body to heal safely and efficiently. The best advice I can give you is to plan ahead: make sure you have caretakers in place not just for yourself, but for your family. The more you prepare, the less stress and “mom guilt” you’ll feel during your recovery.
Good Candidates for a Mommy Makeover
I recommend a mommy makeover to women who are in generally good health but wish to improve their bodies after giving birth. They should be at or near their ideal weight and done with breastfeeding. If you smoke or your BMI is over 30, we need to talk about some lifestyle changes before we can undertake any surgical procedure.
If you plan on having more children down the road, I discourage you from undergoing this procedure. You’ll get the best result if you don’t experience another pregnancy post-surgery.
I had a few meeting with some local plastic surgeons since I had been wanting and researching a mommy makeover for nearly a year. I found a site called RealSelf and was able to post some questions and get responses from actual surgeons. Dr. Rick Brown was kind enough to give me some feed back so I scheduled a consult with him and a couple of other surgeons in the area. The first surgeon I met with was very well known and had a ton of great reviews. I thought he was very nice and kind but I was still just hesitant. Dr. Brown was my next consult. After meeting with his staff I felt like we we’re old friends! He really listened to what I was looking for and even added some recommendations of his own. I felt so confident that he was my surgeon that I paid the deposit before I left. After waiting a couple of months for surgery I kept waiting to feel anxious or scared but that feeling truly never came over me. Even the morning of surgery I was excited. I stayed overnight at the Scottsdale Recovery Center and was treated so wonderful by every nurse on staff. They got me up and walking and we’re right there whenever I needed them. I had delicious snacks and food and it just felt so nice to be taken care of so well. I had a medication called Exporel used to help pain management for surgery and I would definitely recommend it. I am 8 days out of surgery and only use my Percocet just to sleep comfortably at night. Otherwise I have had more pain during the day after being sore from working out too hard in the past! My results are amazing! I almost want to cry when I see myself in the mirror. It’s just something I always wanted to feel happy in my body and Dr. Brown and his staff truly have changed my life. I could not more highly recommend him as a surgeon to anyone! I trusted him and his staff with my life and have zero regrets. If you are considering a procedure I highly recommend going in for a consult. #bodiesbybrown
