What Are My Options For Breast Enhancement?

There are many options available to help you achieve the look you want. Experienced Phoenix cosmetic surgeon Dr. Richard Brown and his staff will help you select the procedure that will give you the results you desire.

Dr. Brown performs several procedures designed to improve breast size and shape:

  • Breast augmentation increases the size and enhances the shape of a woman’s breast through surgical insertion of an implant.
  • Breast lift treats ptosis, sagging breasts, by restoring a natural, youthful shape.
  • Breast reduction makes breasts smaller and improves their shape. It can also help alleviate back and neck pain in some women.
  • Implant replacement replaces an existing implant with a new one. It may be used to change breast size or to correct issues associated with an old or ruptured implant.
  • Nipple enhancement procedures can correct an inverted nipple, reduce the size of the areola, or change the look of a nipple that appears puffy.
  • Breast reconstruction rebuilds a breast that has been removed by mastectomy.
  • Breast asymmetry procedures use one or more techniques to improve the symmetry and balance of the chest.

Choosing breast enhancement is a very personal, life-changing decision, but rest assured that we’re here to help every step of the way. Please contact Dr. Richard Brown today at 877-590-1169 for a consultation in one of our conveniently located offices in the Phoenix metro area.

Nipple Reduction Surgery

Many women live with overly large or drooping nipples or puffy areolas. You don’t have to. Phoenix area plastic surgeon Dr. Richard Brown can perform a relatively simple procedure to reduce the size of your nipples or areola.

You can have nipple reduction performed as its own surgery or in conjunction with a breast augmentation, breast reduction, or breast lift surgery. During the nipple reduction procedure, Dr. Brown will make an incision in the nipple and remove excess tissue from the area. Your results will be natural looking and provide you with nipples that are more appropriately sized for your breasts.

The nipple reduction procedure can be completed in about an hour, but your entire surgical time will vary depending on what other procedures you elect to combine with it. You should expect some discomfort in the days following surgery, but you will be able to return to your normal activities within a month.

If you would like to schedule your confidential consultation with an experienced Phoenix area plastic surgeon to discuss nipple reduction surgery, please call 877-590-1169 or contact Dr. Richard Brown today.

Correcting Inverted Nipples

Inverted (inward pointing) nipples are a fairly common occurrence in women, but being embarrassed by their appearance can negatively affect your self-confidence. Phoenix area cosmetic surgeon Dr. Richard Brown can correct this condition in conjunction with another breast surgery, such as breast augmentation, or perform the relatively minor nipple inversion correction surgery by itself.

Approximately 2% of women are affected by nipple inversion in one or both breasts. The causes of inverted nipples include:

  • Excessively short milk ducts
  • Scarring of the milk ducts
  • Narrow nipple base

With nipple inversion correction surgery, Dr. Brown will make a small incision at the base of the areola and release the tension from the milk ducts on your nipple. Following this procedure, you may have difficulty breastfeeding and can enjoy the body confidence of having natural-looking everted (outward pointing) nipples.

If you are interested in a confidential consultation regarding correcting inverted nipples, please call 877-590-1169 or contact Dr. Richard Brown today to schedule your appointment with an experienced Phoenix area cosmetic surgeon.

Revision Breast Augmentation Surgery

Breast augmentation revision surgery may be required under a number of circumstances. Reasons to consider breast implant replacement include:

  • Dissatisfaction with initial results
  • A desire to change shape or size of your breasts
  • Implant displacement or sagging
  • Capsular contracture
  • Aesthetic imperfections such as rippling or wrinkling
  • Implant rupture

How Revision is Done

Whenever possible, Dr. Brown will perform breast augmentation revision through the same incisions used in your initial procedure. When this is not possible, Dr. Brown will take every consideration to place your incisions in the most inconspicuous location possible.

The procedure itself may take up to two hours, but may take a bit longer if sagging is also being addressed with a breast lift. Your surgical options and what you can expect from this procedure will be discussed with you in more detail during your initial consultation.

It is important to remember that breast implants are not always a permanent solution and it is not entirely uncommon for revision surgery to be necessary at some point. When the time comes for your revision surgery, Dr. Brown will be happy to discuss your options and help you restore the most appealing look to your breasts.

If you live in or around Scottsdale, Arizona and are interested in learning more about breast augmentation revision surgery, please contact Richard J. Brown, M.D. today to schedule a one-on-one consultation.

Breast Augmentation and/or Breast Lift?

Breast augmentation and breast lift surgery offer two distinctly different results. However, many of the issues that result in dissatisfaction with the appearance of the breasts cannot be addressed through one single procedure. During your initial consultation with board-certified Phoenix breast surgeon Dr. Richard Brown, all of your options will be discussed and the procedure or combination of procedures best for you will be determined.

Breast Surgery Options

Breast augmentation is a procedure in which the size, shape, projection, and overall profile of your chest is enhanced. Dr. Brown accomplishes this by using breast implants and offers a wide range of surgical options to help ensure your look is tailored to compliment your body’s unique dimensions.

Breast lift surgery addresses ptosis (sagging) of the breasts. As with breast augmentation, there are a number of surgical options that can be utilized to ensure your specific issues are addressed.

Many women are unhappy with both the appearance and position of their breasts on the chest wall. When this is the case, surgical options can be combined to both enhance and lift the breasts. Combining breast augmentation and breast lift surgery is common following pregnancy or significant weight loss. What will best help you reach your goals will be discussed with you during your initial consultation.

To Lift or Not to Lift?

Figuring out whether to have a breast lift or not is a big decision. Maybe you have decided that you are ready for that breast augmentation you’ve been thinking about for years. So you visit a few plastic surgeons, excited about the possibility of full, high, pre-pregnancy breasts and you hear the words, “You’re going to need a lift.” Whoa! Where did that come from?

I guess the first question to ask is what is the result you are looking for? Is it bigger breasts, fuller breasts, or all of those things with more upper pole volume? If it is, then you’re probably looking at a breast augmentation. But if you have moderate to severe drooping, your nipples are facing downward, or your areolas are too large and need to be modified, then you are probably going to need a breast lift. Only a board certified plastic surgeon by the American Board of Plastic Surgery can determine what would give the optimal result.

Trust your doctor. You know the one that YOU picked? The one with all the credentials and all the “after” pictures that showed you your dream chest? Listen to your doctor. Your doctor has listened to you and what you want to look like after surgery. He or she has enough experience and knows what will achieve the goals you seek. If what you’ve envisioned in your mind requires a lift, then you will very likely be unhappy with anything less.
