Don’t Expect to Wear a Bikini or Go Shirtless Immediately After Liposuction
Liposuction is a very popular procedure that we perform frequently at our plastic surgery office in Scottsdale and Sun City. When you live in a state where you can swim 9 months out of the year (12 if you count hot tubs), everyone wants to look their best!
When it comes to liposuction, one of Dr. Brown’s concerns for his patients is the bruising and swelling that comes along with the procedure. Dr. Brown is as transparent as possible when it comes to the recovery process for each one of his procedures.
There will be swelling and bruising with liposuction. It’s virtually impossible to avoid both side effects with the liposuction procedure. Therefore, patients need to plan accordingly. A recovery period will be necessary as with any other plastic surgery procedure.
Here’s the skinny on liposuction side effects…
- Swelling can last for 3-6 months after surgery.
- Bruising can occur and the healing of the bruises depends on the patient.
- A compression garment will need to be worn over the area as instructed by your plastic surgeon.
- Full results will take 4-5 months.
Dr. Brown’s liposuction procedures are designed to give you the best results with the least amount of side effects. Once you have met with Dr. Brown about which type of liposuction is best for you, he can go over what the recovery process will be like.
